Overview
Sydney Samba is a multicultural collective of drummers and dancers who play the vibrant, explosive and irresistible music of the Brazilian carnival. Playing the traditional percussion instruments of the famous Rio and Bahian blocos. Sydney Samba plays a repertoire that ranges from world famous Carnival Samba to the Caribbean inflected samba-reggae; to the folkloric Afro-Bahian Afoxe to the more contemporary sounds of Hip hop & Funk. We have provided the excitement of carnival to a number of outdoor events, including Global Rhythms Festival, Meatstock Festival, GABS Festival, Easter Show, Parramasala, Creativity Unleashed, and more.
